BECOMING A COORDINATOR

The Coordinator is one of the most valuable assets to a successful workshop. This person is paid in-kind and is able to attend workshops for FREE. This is how it works: You are able to attend the workshop you are coordinating for FREE and then can choose one additional workshop to attend for FREE. The coordinator will be provided a stipend to cover the cost of printing, stamps and snacks for the workshop.

The responsibilities of the coordinator are as follows:

  1. Post advertising posters, pamphlets and flyers with appropriate businesses and/or organizations. Materials will be provided to the coordinator. Location to place posters:
    1. Libraries
    2. Art Supply Stores
    3. Galleries/Museums (Bountiful Davis Art Center, Layton Museum, Eccles Art Museum B Ogden, etc.)
    4. High School Art Classes
    5. Grocery Stores
    6. College/University Art Departments
    7. Frame shops
    8. Etc.
  2. Help set up easels, tables, chairs etc. in preparation for the workshop.
  3. Coordinate all registration mailings.
  4. Manage the payments of those who are registering for the workshop. Keep an accurate budget of who has paid and how much they still owe.
  5. Send a follow-up letter to all students who have sent a deposit. Include a supply list with the letter (it will be provided)
  6. Provide receipts to all attendees.
  7. Provide each student with a Workshop notebook B this would include the copying of the notebook materials and having them ready for the workshop.
  8. Creating name tags for each student's easel.
  9. Purchase water, ice, snacks and paper products. Set up a snack table.
  10. Assist the instructor and students as needed.
  11. Help with the clean up and putting away of all materials at the end of the day.
  12. Encourage students to sign up for the next workshop.
